Country Alliance hopes to upset Greens
The newest kid on the parliamentary-hopefuls-block is a band of chest beating, ultra-rural, greenie-bashing blokes – shooters, loggers, 4WDers, and associated ilk (and their women supporters). Also colloquially known a rednecks.
Their stated purpose is to do in the Greens. They are trying to strike fear into regional voters that the Greens holding the balance of power in the new-look State Upper House would be terrifying for all. Although the Country Alliance’s image and policies would hardly influence Green voters, we expect the Party to lead the attack against the Greens with lies – just as Family First did during the Federal election. So be ready for another round of accusations about supposed Green policies of mandatory lentil eating and perversion.
