Logging lobby group gives itself an award

community engagementBob Humphries has run the biggest woodchip mill in East Gippsland and has operated his Cann River mill for the past 40 years.

Bob Humphries is also the President of the Victorian Association of Forest Industries (VAFI). This is the state’s lobby group for harassing the government to give them more forest to clearfell and for producing plenty of questionable information for the public.

Humphries Cann River mill ‘Hallmark Oaks’ recently received a ‘community engagement award’ at the 2010 VAFI Annual Dinner.

How’s that ey? The VAFI President being presented with an award at the VAFI dinner. Will we next see VicForests giving themselves an award for honesty, integrity and senstivity for their logging practices?
